ANGIOSPERMS

About 245 to 202 million years ago, morpological changes in one group of plants gave rise to the flowering plants- Angiosperms. This changed the world forever and gave rise to one of the most important partnerships on earth: insects and plants. Suddenly there was a burst in scent and colours, flowers and friuts, beetles, flies, bees, wasps butterflies and moths, an explosion of diversity. Plants and insects co-evolved to form the the most complex relationships - and the scent of flowers was born. One example for flowering plants are Magnolias, their floral morphology hasn't changed very much from their fossile ancestors.
